CLOSING OUT THE SCHOOL YEAR

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the school year draws to a close, we wanted to remind you about how to successfully bring this school year to a close and be best prepared for next year.  Please review the below information to determine what steps to take.

First, check the students’ meal account balance by logging in to your Parent Portal.

The remaining balances in your child’s school meal account will be handled as follows:

Positive Balances

If your child has a positive balance, you have a few options for what to do with the remaining funds:

 

  1. Leave the balance in the account: Any money left in the meal account will automatically roll over to the next school year. Leaving the balance is the easiest option for you and the school. This will ensure that your child has funds available for meals when school resumes in the fall.

 

  1. Request a refund: We understand that some families may prefer to have a refund instead. If you would like to receive a refund for the remaining balance in your child’s account, please contact our school nutrition office through this form. All requests must be submitted through the form and received by May 22, 2023. Refunds will be processed within two weeks of approving the request. Priority for this option is given to graduating students and those that are unenrolling.

 

  1. Donate the balance: If you would like to donate the remaining balance in your child’s account to a student in need, please contact our school nutrition office through this form. Your donation will help ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals, regardless of their financial situation. Your donation is tax-deductible and will help reduce our overall school lunch debt.

 

Negative Balances

If your child has a negative balance, you have a few options for what to do to bring the account current:

  1. Make Payments: We kindly request that you bring the account up to date by May 25, 2023. If your child will not be returning to our school next year, we ask that you make a payment or payments to bring the account to a zero balance. 

  2. Request a Payment Plan: We understand that unexpected circumstances can make it difficult to keep up with payments, and we want to work with you to find a solution. Please reach out to our school nutrition office by May 22, 2023 via this form to request a payment plan that works for your family.

Any unpaid balances will be carried over to the next school year and must be paid in full before your child can receive meals.

We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that your child’s school lunch account is up to date. We want to ensure that all students have access to healthy and delicious meals at school, and we appreciate your partnership in helping us achieve this goal.
