Amana Academy Presents ChangeMaker Faire in Partnership with Atlanta Science Festival

STEM- Certified Amana Academy Charter School hosted the 2nd annual Change Maker Faire on March 17, 2019, in partnership with the Atlanta Science Festival.

500 community members attended the Faire, which highlighted and celebrated local makers working in STEM fields in the North Fulton community. The event was North Fulton’s only Atlanta Science Festival partner event. All proceeds from the event benefit STEM Programming at Amana Academy.

25 diverse makers were represented at the event, ranging from robotic cars to beekeeping, woodworking, and coding demonstrations. Visiting makers included Roswell Robotics, Roswell Fire Labs, and Southeast Beescapes. Some young attendees enjoyed face painting from Roberto’s Artwork. The event was scored by DJ Dad, who kept the energy going with family-friendly music.

The event was made possible by sponsors Skillshot, Publix Super Markets Charities, Steel City Pops, Best Buy, Human I.T., Brown & Brown Insurance, Goode Van Slyke Architecture, The Hardee Family, Kimberly Clark, Roberto’s Artwork, DJ Dad, Lexis Nexis, White Tiger Martial Arts, and Mar Jac Poultry. Change Maker Faire was also supported by volunteers from Atlanta Science Festival, Best Buy, and Amana parents, staff, and students.
