Dekalb Farmers Market & Library
Students learn about where our food comes from and relate to access, food miles, and availability of nutritional food.
- September 15, 2026 (Off Campus)
- Cost per student: $18 (Covers bus transportation)
Warbington Farms
Students rotate through 3 stations; Station #1- talk with farm lead about farm organization and groups that work there, study how measures have been set to collect and reuse water; station #2- look at the cycling of nutrients on farm, which involves animals and plants, students relate this to the carbon cycle and how inductrialized farming adds to carbon cycling problems; station #3- students measure garden beds and calculate the amount of people who can be sustained with the farm..

Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum
Students connect to how citizens and government make changes to our laws while investigating how change in government happens.

Tellus Science Museum
Students will be exploring the science of motion and how it has evolved throuhgout time. .

Georgia State Capital
Students visit the Captioal and watch the process of bills becoming laws in action, and take a guided tour that connects our history standards from the New South all the way to Modern Georgia.

Atlanta History Center
Students learn about civil rights and the way that many people have contributed to the fight for equality for the past centuries here in Georgia with an emphasis on local history.

Jerusalem Bakery
Students will be exposed to the Arabic culture and language. Students will learn about healthy food choices and foods avilable in the Arab World.

Students consider what causes homelessness, the needs of the Homeless community, and what can prevent homelessness.

Expert visitor will use knowledge of architecture and construction to assist students in creating their Madhouse design project.
