Dekalb Farmers Market & Library
Students learn about where our food comes from and relate to access, food miles, and availability of nutritional food.

Rucker Farm
Students learn about farm organization and how to collect and reuse water, study the cycling of nutrients on farm, and measure garden beds to calculate the amount of people who can be sustained with the farm.

Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum
Students connect to how citizens and government make changes to our laws while investigating how change in government happens.

Students learn about the connection or laws of conservation and food production from an expert.

Georgia State Capital
Students visit the Captioal and watch the process of bills becoming laws in action, and take a guided tour that connects our history standards from the New South all the way to Modern Georgia.

Government representatives speak to our students about working in government, and the process for a bill to become a law and discuss specific socail/human justice legistlation.

Students learn about civil rights and the way that many people have contributed to the fight for equality for the past centuries here in Georgia with an emphasis on local history.
