Playstreet Museum:

Students will explore ways to play in their community.

Students will explore a variety of ways that play and learning can intersect.

BJ Reece Orchards:

This activity builds background knowledge to support understanding as we talk about things like getting food from trees.

Center for Puppetry Arts:

Students will create thier own puppet and explore how puppets can be used to encourage play in different communities.

Students will use a favorite toy to explore shape,color, texture and material.

Lego Discovery Center:

Students will explore how toys can be used in our community and how they can be used to practice our science standards.

Teaching Museum:

This will be used for 2nd semester kickoff. The “What’s Alive” program will introduce students to the idea of what is alive and not alive.

Students will get real life experiance observiing how different animals rely on trees to meet their needs.

Expert speaker coming to the classrooms to do environmental education with a focus on trees.

Trees Atlanta Forest Products:

Students will explore products made from trees and learn about working forests and the role that trees play in our daily lives.

Students will participate in a service learning project where they learn about invasive species and help with the local flora on the beltine.

Trees Atlanta – Will’s Park Walk:

Expert speaker guided nature walk through Wills Park to learn about native trees in their community.

Learning about trees in a botanical garden helps children understand their role in providing oxygen, shelter, and food, fostering early awareness about the environment and conservation.
