Amana Hosts Hewlett Foundation and Education Partners

On May 1, 2024, we were honored to host guests from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and several of their education partners at our North Fulton campus. They were all in Atlanta for their Education Grantee Convening and were invited by EL Education President and CEO Scott Hartl to come and see what Amana is all about.

According to their website, The Hewlett Foundation’s Education Program “makes grants in the belief that public education builds both individual success and collective good, and to ensure that meaningful educational opportunities equip students to shape the world they live in as leaders in their communities and full participants in our democracy.”

Visitors had a chance to tour the school with student docents and visit classrooms where they saw students working on their #BetterWorldDay projects. They spoke with students about their passions and asked what made them #AmanaProud. Overwhelmingly, students cited the unique opportunities that Amana affords them that they can’t get at other schools – whether its our groundbreaking partnership with Fiserv, or overseas travel opportunities thanks to our partnership with QFI, students recognize that Amana is a school like no other.

As the visit was wrapping up, one guest commented that they often visit schools and a lot of times it feels like a dog and pony show, but what they saw at Amana was very authentic and they could tell that students were genuinely engaged in their learning. We’re so grateful that Amana was chosen for this visit and that we had the opportunity to connect with these education professionals from around the country and the globe.
