What is Title I<\/h3>\n

Title I is a federally funded program that is intended to supplement the regular classroom curriculum. \u00a0Students are provided additional support on the core contents areas of ELA (Math\/Science\/Social Studies). \u00a0The program’s goal is to support students, so that every child meets and\/or exceeds the state’s standards. \u00a0A variety of teaching methods and materials are used to reinforce curriculum concepts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amana Academy West Atlanta is identified as schoolwide Title I as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA)<\/b><\/i>. \u00a0A schoolwide Title I program ensures the success of all students. Everyone has access to the numerous resources and materials purchased with Title I funds, including tablets, laptops, computer programs, books, manipulatives, and learning games. Because of Title I, you and your child have access to excellent resources and enriching programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Parent Right to Know<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

In Georgia, in accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, all LEA schools are\u00a0 required to provide timely notice to parents when students have been assigned or taught for 4 or more\u00a0 consecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet applicable state certification or licensure\u00a0 requirements (including requirements aligned to approved charter and strategic waiver applications) at\u00a0 the grade level(s) and subject area(s) in which the teacher has been assigned.\u00a0<\/span>ESSA Sec. 1112\u00a0 (e)(1<\/span>)(B)(ii)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Notifications were sent on August 30, 2025 of this year to all families.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will closely monitor this class to ensure student achievement. However, if you have additional questions or concerns about your child\u2019s educational progress or teacher, you may contact our school directly.<\/span><\/p>\n

SCHOOL COMPACT FOR SHARED STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
What is it?\u00a0<\/b>This Compact describes how Amana Academy West Atlanta will provide opportunities to improve parent engagement in order to support student learning.<\/em> The staff and parents at Amana West are committed to providing a quality education for all of our students. \u00a0In order to achieve this goal, the teachers and staff at Amana Academy realize that a strong partnership between the school and home is essential. \u00a0We encourage our parents and community to actively participate in the education of Amana West students. \u00a0<\/div>\n

The Compacts are reviewed and updated annually based on feedback from parents, students, and teachers during the Parent Feedback Meeting. \u00a0The School-Parent-Student compacts are distributed to parents during the beginning of each school year in order to review throughout the year\u00a0<\/p>\n

How is it developed and revised?<\/b> Amana Academy West Atlanta welcomes parent feedback at any time regarding the Compact. All parent feedback will be used to revise the Compact for the next school year. \u00a0The Compact is posted on our school website for parents to view throughout the year. Feedback can be sent at any time using the feedback form available on our website.\u00a0 We also distribute an annual survey online to ask parents for their suggestions on the Compact and the use of the reserved 1% Title I funds for parent involvement. \u00a0Parents can also give feedback during our end-of-the-year May Meeting to revise the Compact for the upcoming school year and have the opportunity to give input on the School-wide Compact. Any comments or feedback showing the Title I School-wide Compact is not satisfactory to parents will be submitted \u00a0to the District Title I Office.<\/p>\n

Who is it for?<\/b> All students participating in the Title I program, and their families, are encouraged and invited to fully participate in the opportunities described in this Compact. \u00a0Amana West provides complete opportunity for the participation of parents with limited English, parents with disabilities, and parents of migratory children.<\/p>\n

Where is it available?<\/b> At the beginning of the school year, the Compact is sent home with all students. The Compact is posted on the Amana West Title I website and we offer copies at the Front Desk under Parent Involvement Folder. It is also sent home via email in our Weekly Wednesday Updates newsletter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
