Effective Monday, School Will Be Closed Until Further Notice

Governor Brian Kemp held a news conference this afternoon during which he announced that all school systems should consider closing for two weeks.

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, Fulton County Schools, including Amana Academy will be closed until further notice. This action is being taken in an effort to slow the rapidly spreading COVID-19 virus. Students and all employees should not report to school or work until further notice.

We recognize the hardship this decision places on many families but believe it is in the public’s best interest if it means we can contribute to protecting our students and the community’s health and well-being.

Students will be expected to complete online learning assignments and/or work packets as assigned by their classroom teachers. We will be sending out additional information related to this expectation by Monday, March 16, 2020.

We know that many of our families participate in our school breakfast and lunch programs, and we want to remain a resource for you during this time. At present, we know that North Fulton Community Charities has a well stocked pantry and can help our families residing in North Fulton. Roswell Community Masjid – RCM will start serving bag lunches on March 17 daily between 10AM and 12PM. We also know that the Atlanta Community Food Bank has resources for our families who live in other parts of Fulton.

Fulton County Schools School Nutrition is setting up alternate drive-through meal sites at six schools. For more info, please visit the Fulton Schools website.
